U of M has done studies for many many years. Advantage narrow rows !! I have also done many years of study, 30's can equal 15 but have never beat them.
If you get a hail storm kiss those 30 inch row beans goodby as they will lay on the ground vs 15 will tangle with each other.
On 15 they feed better into the head and you don't need to run the reel as low or as fast so less shatter.
As far as white mold goes, buy varieties that are tolerant. Don't lower your yield by going to 30 and then still have mold becasue you planted the wrong variety.
Later planting narrow is better.
