Subject: Re: How old were you when your dad started you driving?

I was probably 5-6 years old when my dad let my brother and I spray johnsongrass with hand nozzles with a model A with a 55 gallon barrel tank on back and a belton gear pump. If we killed the tractor we might or might not get it restarted (flywheel crank). My brother would push the wheel with his foot and I would pull with my hands and sometimes we would get it restarted. Driving alone cultivating with a 70 with no powersteering tricycle front and front mount 4 row jd cultivator at 9 years old. I remember trying to turn around one time and I got the front wheels dug in and I had to walk 3/4 mile to the house and get dad to come straighten it out. Now I realize why he drank so much :). Well my brothers and I burned out some clutches and broke 3 axles on the old chevy apache pickup until dad could not get any more replacements but we did get all the jackrabbits eradicated on our place with out getting anyone killed which thinking back is a miracle in itself.
