I agree with Ted.  A boom section on is possible, but I would say highly unlikely the way the InSight works.  First the boom valve has to be physically there for the InSight to even let you add it to an configuration (you cannot have a phantom valve).  Then if the InSight thinks a valve is on, the onscreen indicators would show that.

The InSight acreage on my SPX3185 with autoboom is extremely accurate using GPS for speed.  But the acres on on the unit on my Cat will be consistently high when running my airseeded.  Due to the length of the hoses on the airseeder, you have to let it down about 10' before you want the seed to start.  That will make the acreage run consistently 2-5% high.  Most people do not realize how much that overlap adds up to.
