North Central Illinois | I don't care what kind of corn you are used to combining. You do have a point that a lot of guys start howling pretty bad when mother nature doesn't cooperate. Its not just guys from Illinois either but we always get the first finger pointed at us. There is actually a lot of crappy ground in Illinois and its like a lot of other states in that weather varies greatly from one area to another. With this in mind a guy can have a really poor crop on his farm while the state still raises a record crop. No different than a lot of states really. I'm hear to tell you that 130 bushel corn is a money loser around here even with very cheap rent. Hopefully he was well insured. And yes maybe some of us guys from Illinois whine a little but you are always the first pr#*k from Iowa to post something negative when we do. | |
