Central Saskatchewan Canada | We always band when the calf is first born. My cousin had trouble banding small holstien calves because they would get infected. I think the problem was they were kept inside and laying it the damp straw. Our calves are running in the fields and have never seen any infection but I have missed a nut before. Not the end of the world just cut it out later. |
