Just got our valuations for Kansas , most dryland is down 10% or so. Kansasuses use/value for appraised value so the selling price of land has no effect on the appraised tax value.
That's how I'm told ours in Colorado works. I do kind of question it a little bit though. Theoretically ag land is supposed to be valued on its "earnings" potential..........instead of selling price. But after 30+ years of paying property taxes..........I'm not sure I completely follow the logic. Admittedly it has been inconsistent. |
