Earlville, NY | I don't think our vet would be too flexible. They do have an early pay discount of 10%, I didn't think to take that off the hourly charge. They are very good, have a large number of vets, really is nothing else closer around here as the small farms have dropped out over the years.
We milk 500+, have headlocks in all groups. I've never been a fan of sorting cows out to do anything except hoof trimming, dry off or pen moves. Did that when we were smaller, always seemed disruptive and labor intensive to me. But that's our personal preference. My herdsman usually sets locks and will mark most of cows to get checked before vet comes so the vet does get through fairly quickly.
