I believe the exhaust should covered when hauling a tractor. Just last year we had a dealer come pick up a tractor for maintenance and when they got it to their shop the bearings had been spun out of the turbo and it was leaking oil terribly. The turbo had less than 200 hrs on it and was working fine when it left. Dealer replaced it since the truck driver didn't cover the exhaust.
