it could but it is very unlikely. the reason that the air could flow throught the engine is that there is a time when the intake and exhaust valves in the same cylinder are open at the same time. this is called valve overlap. here is a diagram. the outer dark circle is the time that the exhaust valve is open and the inner dark circle is the time that the intake valve is open. so basicly the engine would have to shut off when both valves are open then the air would blow through the engine past the turbo and out the air cleaner. this is unlikely BUT IT IS POSSIBLE!
