Machines are built to maximize profit for the company. They could care less how easy it is for you or their mechanics to fix it.




I read once that if engineers had a free hand, they would build the best machine possible, but no one could afford it.
The bean counters are there to make sure the machine is good enough to attract buyers, but cheap enough to make a good profit and sell a lot of units.
