The 'experts', ie some extension and university people claim 8c for bin emptying cost- auger wear, electricity, time, etc. I don't buy that, I'd put it closer to 2-3c/bu. But there is a cost and you should consider it.

As to drying, be careful. We have watched ours last few years and we were not as far below the terminal as we thought. Below yes, but not as much. If you can do natural air, you should be under a ways.

Also, there is risk and work. You'll need to climb up there every few weeks, or else. And the risk of spoilage is all yours.

I agree with your plan, we farm store all ours. If every square foot of my ground was as profitable as that under my bins it would be wonderful.
