| You don't need IFTA. But if you don't get it then you WILL need a fuel permit for any other state that you enter. They generally cost between $15 and $30 per trip. May cost more in the long run but easier than making sure you get the IFTA paperwork filed correctly and on time. You may or may not get by with farm plates just depends on who is looking and what you tell them. You may also have to get a trip permit which generally runs the same as the fuel permit. Just make sure you have the permits BEFORE you pull onto the scales or you will probably get a reminder ticket (mine was $65). The regs still say that your home is a required posting on the truck. | |
