Not sure what your route is, but if it is I-70 there is an IN point of entry eastbound (much more particular than just a scale house)  and an IL scale westbound.  You will be over 10 miles from home so your farm plates won't be worth anything.

In Illinois if you are over 8 ton you have to weigh and the locals just love chasing down bypasses.
