Subject: RE: Now the Foliar feed is interesting.

Dalton, OH
Foliar feed with 1-2 gallons of 5-15-15 with a little calcium mixed in after every cutting. Also apply 300 lbs of 5-11-47 dry in the late fall or early in the spring. In test strips I have seen an increase of 2-4% protein and 10-20 points on RFV. At first I was worried I would draw down the soil, but soil tests have confirmed that P and K levels are staying steady. I am drawing down the Calcium levels a little, but fields get 2-3 tons of high calcium low Mag lime at least once every 4 years, sometimes more if needed. Our Mag levels our quite high.
