Hay Wilson in TX

Subject: Now the Foliar feed is interesting.

Little River, TX
If you do not mind what do you foliar feed with?
A premix or a custom blend for the occasion?
How have you determined what elements are limiting production &/or persistance?
Reasoning for foliar rather than soil incorporation prior to planting or annually with other fertilizers?

At one time I did the foliar feed but one time a year. That was only until I was able to apply the offending micronutrients prior to planting. Well it took two some times three soil applied preplanting applications before the Micronutrients were holding their own.

Probably 20 years ago now, I should have done the foliar thing with potash, but like the idiot I am I believed what the Soils Lab at Tx A&M U was telling me. They insisted 140 ppm K was enough to not require supplementation, and the soil test on a couple of fields was drifting toward 300 ppm K. Tissue analysis and hay testing was telling me a different story. A ton of murate of potash almost cured that little problem.
