Subject: Two good books to buy

North End I-15
"The Fertilizer Handbook " By the fertilizer Institute and "Western Fertilizer Handbook " By the California Fertilizer Association .

We always went by local research station recomendations . Soil anayalis , then figure what the crop needs and add accordingly . My neighbors all go by soil test recomendations . My feeling is they are spending way too much money on N .
Dr. Grant Jackson here @ the Northern Research Center is sort of our Guru of sorts . He had done the work and the proof is in the pudding . I raise malt barley and do a darn good job of it . Always deliver plumper , lower protien , barley . I know I am patting my self on the back but .... I have won more Coors belt buckels than any other grower in the system in a shorter time. :>) OK , OK I know quit bragging :>)
Here is picture of Bills Coors presenting me belt buckle @ grower picnic here in 1998 .
