Subject: What ag degree?

Roaming the plains
Ag Econ, business, engineering, technology, journalism, agronomy, animal science?

Does someone working at boeing need to know how to fly a plane?

My question is why would he be looking at fall harvest work after graduation? The Ag economy / industry is strong and job marketplace is in good shape. He may be the best employee you hire if you take some time up front with him. Early 20's and the ability to finish college may make him more conscience and thoughtful about the operations being performed than some 18 year old towny? May not be as it is all up to the individuals but I wouldn't rule him out. Invite him to the farm, give him a quick overview of how to run the tractor and cart and see how he does. Let him know it is a second interview. You might be surprised.

I graduated with an Ag degree and can't AI a cow, or tell you the latin name for pigweed (hated weeds class because of that).
