277885A1 is a Trimble 30945, Ted. As you noted, Trimble stayed with the serial spec, while AgLeader bastardized it to fit their needs. Therefore, Trimble supplies power to the receiver via separate power/ground leads. Complete pinout for that cable is:

Round connector DE9 (DB9)

1 4

2 (Tx) 2

3 (Rx) 3

4 -

5 (Data gnd) 5

6 6

7 (SUPPLY) -

8 8

9 -

10 (SUPPLY) -

11 (GROUND) -

12 9

NOTE: Since Ag Leader uses DE9 pins 4 & 6 to supply 12v power, be careful. These pins are used for Event In (4) and Data Set Receive (DSR) (6) on the receiver. I don't know if there is any internal protection in the receiver to guard against incoming 12v on these pins, or what 12v might do on those pins.
