Australia
It's not so much an accuracy increase we are interested in. We are testing MAX versus VRS for ag machine applications now so no firm results yet but we suspect some advantages for MAX using RTCM3.1 messages. The two biggest things for the Leica Ag group are:

1) It's an open standard so a farmer can buy a mojoRTK autosteer and run off a Trimble CORS network without any 'brand incompatibility' surprises such as you get with VRS and CMR+ with glonass on a non-Trimble receiver.

2) MAX is a broadcast message; that is the tractor does not need to send its position to the network server so that a virtual reference station can be created. This makes communication one-way, versus two-way for legacy VRS support. Not a huge deal but may certainly improve reliability where there is poor communication.

Either way most new CORS networks are specifying both MAX and VRS as must have requirements and we will support both.

Cheers

John
