This doesn't answer your question but anyway.

The bed under our 1350 gal water tank has 4 6"x8" rough cut stringers under it with rough cut 2"x8" boards for the deck. The gear is pushed all the way together so that the stringers only span 6 or 7 ft. All of the wood is from a local sawmill that buys old wooden railroad trestles.

This one is built much heavier than our previous one that met its demise when an axle on the running gear broke and pretty much turned the bed into firewood. That one only had 2 6x8" stringers and they spanned probably closer to 14 or 15 ft as we also used that bed for hauling bales, the new one is dedicated to the water tank and chemical.
