Danville, Illinois | I am just getting back into farming as a side business after a 15 year hiatus from the ag field. When I used to farm, (1980-1993) comodities as well as fertilizer and fuel was cheap. There was no such thing as roundup ready and we tilled the soil at least 3 times prior to planting. Now I am learning everything I can about no-till, min-till and triple stack genetics. I am also going from primarily red equipment to all green.
My first of many newbe questions
Do you leave the notill coulters on your planter even if you are using a one-pass soil finisher for corn???
Can I pull an 8rn no-till planter with less than 100hp tractor maybe a JD 2950?? My ground is flat but can be some gumbo
