What I would do. Dig down 1/2 way from the supply end. Cap off where you dug. Turn on the water. This should tell you which half the leak is in. If it is in the 1/2 closest to the supply end the pressure should go down. If the leak is in the other half, go to the middle of that run and dig down again, Do the same thing. Of course you would have to splice the line back together every time you dug down. This would reduce the number of holes you would have to dig. Maybe it will narrow it down to a shorter section that you can look at the surface very closely. Hopefully you can understand what I am trying to tell you.
