I think the hybrids really shine if you do a lot of stop and go city driving, but on long trips they are not that much better then a regular model with a small engine. So I am guessing the pay back via fuel saving for the hybrid premium price is going to be fairly long. And any Camry is going to keep its value as well as any car on the market these days.
BTW, Consumer Reports actually rated the new Nissan Altima over the Camry for the first time ever.
