Bought a Honda Civic Hybrid about a year ago. Wife and I both love it. Gets 46-50 MPG depending on where and how it is driven. This is the first "foreign" car we have ever owned. Only reason we will ever get rid of it is to get a newer one. Not a single problem with the car since we bought it.
Highly recommend it.
