It's hard to say. No one farm is the same. Some guys make it work, some don't like it. We made the switch 6 years ago from 30" to 20" after no-tilling for 12 years. We liked it the first couple years for both corn and beans. The residue has become a real pain for us, and our fertility needs have become our limiting factors. I would say if you're tilling, it will work much better. We really like the 20" beans as they seem to be a nice balance, but an expansion opportunity has us going back to 30" rows and likely buying another air drill.
