Subject: RE: 20" vs 30" rows

I think 20" rows increase the upper yield potential in many northern climates compared to 30" rows, but the management will need to be pushed to capture that higher yield potential.

I have seen producers just compare 20" to 30" rows with no yield difference, but when populations were increased by 4000 plants per acre and 20-30 lb/ac more N was applied, the 20" rows yielded 10-20 bu/ac more.
