Subject: Re: 6 litre Chevy pickup vs 5.3

Hastings, NE
I have a 2007 Sierra Classic 1500 extended cab 4x4 with 5.3 engine and 3.42 rearend. On several occasions last summer driving to Omaha at 60-65 mph I was able to get 20-21.5 mpg. Usually around 19 coming home but that was gradually up hill all the way. It is a 160 mile trip for me. I bought it new in April of 07. It weighs 5500 with 2 people and full load of fuel. Anything over 65 and the mileage starts to plummet. If I pull a 20 ft. flatbed trailer it drops to 16.5.
