Becks Hybrids does a lot of research on their farms. The following research is similar to what we have found over the years using all three widths. http://www.beckshybrids.com/research/2007/pg1_pg69%2059.pdf

We have been no-till drilling the last couple of years. This year we will probably use the planter in 15" rows because our seed size will be running from 2600 to 3800 seeds/lb. Thats a lot of adjusting on the drill.
