It really is a personal preference. I think that your seed to soil contact is improved, I cant prove that to you but I have always had excellent emergence on rolled beans. I dont raise corn, but I know you guys run those headers pretty low, and I guess if it was me I would seriouly consider it. If your running a chopping head, I would image every now and again you hit a rock with the chopper, and everytime I see a damaged snout, I usually hear a story where the word rock comes up. So maybe it would be worth it. I know it is in beans.
