Subject: RE: feed bunks regular or dairy style

Sioux Center, Iowa
Add to the previously mentioned reasons for floor feeding a dairy, Most of them remove the leftover feed with a skidsteer at least once a day. I have flat floor feeding in my hfr alley and hate it. Always pushing the feed up. Someday i'm gonna put bunks along there. I also have three yards with fenceline bunks. I had trouble with hfrs throwing high roughage rations over the front until I put a cable 4" from the inside surface of the top edge. Keeps them from pushing that feed up and over.
