Kansas | You no-till or max till Tim?
If you are no-till, only thing you lost was cover because you wouldn't gain the benefits for that corn fodder to break down and re-enter the soil in a years time be my best figure.
Max-till, well, Can you pull a soil sample in a similar field now and then after a time lapse when it has had time to break down and see the difference in what it has gained over the time the plant matter broke down?
Either way, near as I am reading it on here, you didn't take off the stalks, the previous tenant did. Sounds to me like if you get ousted down the road your going to have minimal invested keeping that ground to the "fertility recieved in".
I would sure be for visiting with that landlord. Sounds like he's a thorough person for the most part. Everyone gets zinged now and again. | |
