I mentioned one time on this site about us bagging field chopped straw. Very happy with for mixing for special groups of cows in our rations. The biggest reason we did that was it eliminated sorting. It also works good for bedding as chopped straw is much more absorbent than long straw. But this wouldn't work for outside where to wind blows. I have never bagged stover cannot see why it wouldn't work. At least it's out of the weather. Also you would be amazed how much straw per foot you can get in a bag
