Subject: field chopping and agbagging straw and fodder

Thompsontown, Pennsylvania
I was thinking i had read on here at one point there was somebody who was field chopping straw to add to their dairy ration. What I am thinking about is instead of baling corn fodder and straw and then getting it ground so I can use in the bedded packs, I could chop it with my forage harvester and bag it......would this work? would be using the tails of haylage bags we didn't need and what not in most cases, not buying bags just to bag bedding. I know of a guy who does custom bagging who also has dairy and he does this with the tails his customer don't use and shavings.....TIA Kyle
