I myself figure am better off with the mix 30 and it is more cost effective than protein tubs. It is a supplement for me. My thing is trying to figure out every way to shorten the number of days I feed hay. I'm really thinking I may need to lower cow numbers if we continue with the current weather we have had the last two years. I have virtually no grass regrowth for July, August and Sept. Every day i don't feed hay saves $200-250/ day. I was grazing until the end of December, but haven't done it the last two years. I've got about 37 days of estimated grass grazing left, but I have another 80@ of cornstalks to graze. I am reading posts about 5 months of grazing leases which leaves 7 months of feeding. WOW. | |
