By product of choice added to some barley is anything that says rice ( rice hulls / pearlings etc ), and a 33% ( 1/3 of energy portion of ration ) ground ear corn kicker.
Some by products will not hurt meat.
Generally you'll use those in the grow end anyway ( say to 1,000 lbs ), and go to more grain then.
Some of thee best grass fed naturalites are strait grass and 7 lbs ddgs per day ( REALLY great tasting beef ).
