Middle Tennessee | Bill,
I agree but two years ago dad broke his hip darn high birth weight got in on 14 heifers. Due to all the sickness no time to abort so we put them in a lot and said go for it. 14 live heifers 13 live calves all unassisted. Next year 24 bred to farm proven low birthweight bull. Checked 4 am, 12pm. 4pm and 10pm or close first 20 calves unassited next 2 hard pulls, last 2 C-section. I have had great success over the years, I have saved very few from being there but have saved a lot because of careful selection of bulls and heifers. I have 4 of 11 calved to date with4 live calves no assisted. Your pictures and post are required reading in our house.
