North Cental Mo. | Well, I have never had it happen, but did have a friend have it happen. Small number of cows and he just bought some better hay. Above case I am guessing a little shelled corn would have went a long way (more energy). I guess grinding the old hay and feeding it with something else would be the best option. As far as making hay, if I could find a somewhat local source of good grass legume mix hay, I would sell my haying equipment and run more cattle, or raise more corn.
