Thanks for your reply. I've heard Grandpa say all that ground down there used to have 1-2 foot of topsoil, not true now. If people would have no-tilled when they first farmed it, some of that topsoil might still be there. Most of the ground around here needs to be in grass, but don't see that happening anytime soon.
