Still a few here in ND, there used to be a lot more.  I had a few char bulls at one time.  Didn't like how big the cows got, or the feed it took for those big cows.  Also, they don't cross real well with Angus.  Buyers discount for skunks, and we always seemed to get a few.  Chars do certainly raise big calves though, but the bottom like still looked better with Angus.
