Chars have lost a lot of ground in Western Canada the last 10 yrs. Simmentals & Angus are the two leading breeds & will most likely remain. Our area used to have lots of guys using Char bulls, now only a few remain. But, everyone uses a Simmental bull, I would say that we sell Simmental bulls to 75% of cattle producers in our area, which is also the Cattle Capital of MB. Chars are a terminal breed, but if the commercial man can't use the females, it will weaken the breed majorly.

Do you still see many white herds in Ontario & Quebec?
