Subject: how do you graft a fruit tree?

NC Iowa
anyone know how to do it in a way that works? i have an 100 year old apple tree that has the best apples i have ever found. large bug resistant apples, never spray them. apples don't turn brown when peeled. tree is getting in bad shape, and i think every year will be its last. be nice to get another one started somehow. i wonder if a branch could be grafted somehow?
thanks.
