The future of switchgrass to power the USA is pretty dim. But I wouldn't be afraid to put a wager on sweet sorghum. I think it's going to make some headway in the next few years due to the high efficiency low energy requirements. Supposedly you can get 1000 gallons of ethanol/acre out of sweet sorghum compared to 500 for corn.

It's all for gits and shiggles if oil goes back to 50-60 dollars/barrel.
