Princeton,IN
I've got pretty calm cows, can walk amoung 'em, pet a few. Weaned my calves when the pasture dried out in July(we're in a draught,"HERE").
Took the calves a week to calm down. Told my boys that the signs must have been wrong to wean. I don't follow the signs, but sometimes things just work out "different". Makes me wonder.
I second the idea to jsut set down quietly on the feed bunk, or a bucket. Calves will get curious and start to wonder up to you.
