Subject: Re: corn crop size estimates

South central Minnesota
There will be some very good yields yes but the weather we experienced, warm days followed by warm nights and the amount of precipitation varied widely accross the area. Even before this major rain event the bit of harvest done and the yields that have been talked about haven't impressed me one bit. Side note , we lost quite a few acres to the flooding, went through the same harvest problems 6 years ago after 11- 13" fell right at the beginning of harvest. Corn was OK, beans well some could be salvaged but you sure didn't want to have few wet rotten ones spoil a load so you avoided the areas that had been under water for any time. Sure is a large area of Mn that is really wet now.
