You said it for me.  I feel strongly that all the Clean water BS is going to side swipe any factor of "big vs small". And as far as efficiency and economics, I was at a dairy seminar last winter where a CPA threw up slides comparing profitability between small, medium and large dairies. Profit ranges per cow for the groups were identical.   It all comes down to management.  I'm not promoting dirty water, but the epa and dnr need to be cut off at the knees.  I've got a feeling nothing about this trend will change until people are really hungry, and that aint gonna be pretty.
