northwest tennessee | Good advice on all of it. Fescue is like you cant live with it and cant live without it. You just manage the best you can with it and sometimes you find cows that just dont deal with it well and you need to cull them. The real test is getting a first calf heifer bred back after calving. There are alot of things going on at that time. I have found feeding the best mineral you can and in my case one high in copper is one of the keys to dealing with fescue and also soil fertility. Get your soil in good shape and go easy on the nitrogen from outside sources. Try to use clovers for your nitrogen and they will help dilute the endo also. | |
