Eastern Ohio
Are you supplementing any minerals? Are they bred back? Are they wormed? Pulling down 1st calf heifers isn't a good idea although we've all done it.
I've used a mineral tub from crystalyx called transition stree tub when the heifers got pulled down and saw results the first week, they are pricey but they work. Sounds like your calves are ready to be weaned also, don't know how many head you have, but they sell a plastic weaning ring you can put in their nose and keep them with the cows. less stress on everyone. I'll let someone else comment on the fescue , I don't like it and won't seed it. Crystalyx.com
