WY, OK | Depends on what you mean by "Fall" and when you want them to calve next year. Ours all calve in early January to the end of February, We wean from late August to late September depending on grass. They are just left in the pasture until they calve. They get most of their supplemental feed right after they had that first calf for the next few months, by this time of the year they almost all look fine. They are bred to start calving mid to late January. If we do get a group that s a little run down after weaning we will pull them and give them a little better hay in the fall before they get thrown back in with the rest of the herd. | |
