North Mo.
Gee Jim we could easily graze that much if not wanting to stockpile. Will graze each acre maybe 6 times in a year and no mowing granted it does not look as pretty but we are capturing solar energy and transporting it into organic matter for the soil. I can see a large improvement in our pastures after grazing ultra high after a few years and yes there are fewer so called weeds. I have been keeping records since Jan 1 just on 1 paddock H-5 it was grazed on Feb 16, Apr 3,May 2 north half, south 5/16 think. I showed a pic of it on here. Also grazed fast by fall calves after weaning July 1st on their way too warm season grass. But if a cow will eat it sometime during the year it isn't a weed in my book. It will be interesting how my pastures handle a drought with all the litter built up on the ground. I will put the money in my pocket thank you for the clipping of the pastures. Granted clipping will give you a much more golf course look which most people prefer. Its sort of like no till in the late 70's and early 80's it looked like crap and still does for that matter.
On a different note we planted some grazing corn not field corn from Baldridge this week, knifed in some N and will spray tomorrow. We will like a rain soon just to insure success . Ben
