Subject: Re: wind farms

Near-north Ontario, French River
I guess the way I look at it, is if the wind farm is there for 20 years, and in that time I've grossed ( 12k/yrx20yr) @240,000 then I really dont have much of a problem with them returning the land to previous condition, IF they remove the tower and any associated buildings. On the farm that I have that is scheduled to get a tower this summer ( they have started the access roads) I anticipate they will use about 3 acres max , out of a 100 acre farm. So am I willing to trade the potential loss of 3 acres , 20 years down the road for a potential gross of 240k??,,hmmm to me that's a no brainer . Before someone chimes in that 'nothing is guaranteed', let me first say that 'here' when companies put up these project they do so with a contract from a provincially backed and run electricity provide ( Ontario Hydro), so they have essentially locked their revenues for the next 20 years so for me the risk of this entire venture seems pretty minimal from my standpoint.
